We all woke up early to attend the Dolphin Interaction starting at 7.30am down at the beach. We spectators walked into the water just to our ankles, and a few of the dolphins came in after a while, 2 females, and their 1 year old dolphin babies and a couple of males. They were all very calm and swam around only metres from us for about 20 minutes they are so gentle and pretty looking. The ranger then asked everyone to step back to the shoreline out of the water as it was feeding time. There are only 5 dolphins that are fed, and they're only given 2 fish each. The volunteers with the fish select people from the crowd to do the honours, and with over 100 people around, Renee & Eamon were ecstatic to be picked to feed one. So they stepped forward, and Renee held the fish by the tail and the dolphin gladly accepted it - Eamon has 2 stuffed toy 'dolphies' that he sleeps with, so to get a close up view was perfect. The baby dolphins were playing together which was fun to watch, and then the adult dolphins were trying to catch some fish - the fish were literally flying and bouncing in and out of the water to escape the very sleek dolphins chasing them!
After that early start, we had bacon & eggs for breakfast, and headed down to the jetty where we met the other 2 families and the kids enjoyed jumping off the jetty and we spotted a lovely turtle quite close by. Greg took the car into Denham for the RAC patrolman to assess, while Mum, Renee & Eamon enjoyed some morning tea in the very pleasant Boughshed Restaurant, before heading to the pool & hot tub for a refreshing dip.
We had to go back to the mechanic at Denham at 3pm, so after that we drove down to Eagle Bluff - a nice lookout into the bay. We saw a few manta rays from our vantage point up on the clifftop. Back home, we joined the other 2 families for dinner and drinks at the Monkey Bar - the kids had a great time playing pool, etc. We called it quits around 8.30pm and had an early night.
