A very slow morning today - cold and overcast so we took our time. Eventually around midday we organised ourselves to take a drive out to the Kalbarri Gorges, formed by the Murchison River. Firstly, the Z-bend Gorge lookout: an easy 2.6 km return walk which included some ladders and boulders, so a bit of fun and there was water in the gorge, so it was very pleasant with nice wildflowers along the way. We had the fastest lunch possible back at the carpark, due to the flies surrounding us. A short drive away was a lookout called Nature's Window: a natural rock structure providing a fantastic frame looking north into the gorge.
We drove back to town, and dropped into a couple of places: Chinaman's Beach and Blue Holes, had a cleansing ale at the pub, and went back to the van for some play time on the jumping pillow, and dinner. Overall, a nice relaxing day.
