Forecast for Bank holiday Monday is fine in the morning and then rain, so we attempted to get an early start for our bike ride to Port Isaac. There was a non biking option of a trip to Padstow for those who had not gone on Friday. Simon and Elly borrowed Tim and Philipa's road bikes, which were essential to climb the scarily steep hill into and out of Port Isaac. No sign of Doc Martin today but they are filming in the area. We got a few strange looks walking around in lycra and clippy shoes, we stopped at the "school" for coffee before making a speedy return before the rain came.
We had a chance to chill before the Padstow party returned with pasties, and with Tim's excellent Stilton and broccoli soup any calories burnt cycling up the hills were quickly replaced. The cake and beer supply has not run out yet so no chance of anyone going hungry or thirsty this week!
Table tennis semi finals and finals were played with a thrilling final of Graham and Phillipa beating Duncan and Sarah. However Elly won the guess the royal baby name competition and I think with partner Judith she needs a mention by reaching the semi finals of the table tennis, being the only female team.
The surfing contingency went off to the beach late afternoon and had lots of fun in the large waves.
The chefs of the day were Duncan and Sarah and Beth made us some excellent starters followed by another delicious meal of lamb tagine and banoffee pie.
The jigsaw puzzle was progressing while we watched a DVD late into the evening.
