It's Saturday morning it must be Parkrun. The nearest Parkrun was at Lanhydrock House the other side of Bodmin so an early start was required. Unfortunately Elly's bed was more inviting on this damp and murky morning so the Judith v Elly parkrun challenge will have to wait. The murky conditions rather spoiled the views, but the location must have been one of the best with posh toilets and a cafe. However the course was somewhat challenging, we enjoyed the long downhill stretches past the house through rhodedendron bushes, bluebell woods, along a river but what goes down must go up a steep uphill near the end guaranteed no PBs today.
We returned to enjoy freshly baked bread for brunch and the boys enjoyed a fry up.
With the weather dull and miserable it was time for a table tennis tournament. Partners picked and games began . First rounds were before lunch then a walk to Polzeath where we spotted Joe Absolon from Doc Martin in Anne's Cottage. Tim made some excellent soup for lunch and the table tennis tournament continued with Simon and Marcia beating Duncan and Beth in the final. Stephen and Marcia departed late afternoon and we headed down to the beach for some surfing and bodyboarding .I couldn't face the effort of getting into a wetsuit so lent my wetsuit to Elly.
Barbara and Dave arrived at 8.30 before another excellent dinner of Chilli followed by chocolate cheesecakes. I hope we have burnt enough calories today otherwise we will all be gaining a few pounds!
