Having had a late night, we left the youth to sleep while making an urgent trip down to Polzeath Spar for the yeast. A quick return to make bread and then continued our run up to Pentire Point. We arrived back to join the household having breakfast. Beth arrived early but today's disaster was that she left her shopping in her mum's car! Nothing too disastrous as we had more shopping to do. May Day is 'Obby horse day in Padstow so we thought we ought to see this pagen festival. We combined the trip with a long walk to Rock along the beach to catch the ferry and walked back. A good day for walking as no surf.
Arriving in Padstow the weather became wet and cold so having seen the Obby horse parade , eaten ten pasties and had the family tradition of a photo on the sea wall, we decided that we had done the necessities and headed back to Rock for a drink in the Mariners Bar before the trek home.
The walk entailed finding a few geocaches one which was claimed to be the best ever! Plus a visit to John Betjamen's grave. After tea and cake a shopping contingency was dispatched to Aldi for wine.
Dudley arrived at 6 pm and we enjoyed fish pie and rhubarb crumble catching up on his news. The 2000 piece puzzle was started to keep us occupied, while waiting for Tim and Philipa to arrive
Another late night for some of us.
