Queenstown part 1
We got to Queenstown the day before Halloween so we went for a wander around the shops to find a costume to wear to go out for Halloween night. We went out for a few drinks that night, but were very sensible and had an early night in preparation for Halloween night!
Halloween night was so much fun, we all got dressed up in the room - Odette was a killer bunny and we were so lucky that one of the girls in the room is a makeup artist so she did amazing face paint to make oddy look scary! I dressed as a creepy rag doll and because everyone was saying me and one of the girls in the room look like each other we decided to be twin rag dolls and dressed exactly the same! The night was really good except I slipped and hit my bum really hard, it hurt so much that the shock of the pain made me pass out!! Luckily I managed to tell Oddy I felt weird and she sat me down just in time. Apparently I just slumped into her and was being really drowsy for a while, people were thinking I was too drunk or my drink had been spiked and planning to carry me out and take me home but the minute I came around properly I was totally fine again! It really freaked Oddy out though and she started crying which ruined her face paint!! But we just added some fake blood to cover her tear marks and carried on with the night!
The next day we went for a famous Fergburger for dinner which I thought was amazing, but oddy was less impressed because she says honest burger in London is better, so we've already planned dinner there for my next visit to see her!!
On Saturday we went to the morning market, it was nice but a lot smaller than we were expecting so we walked around the whole thing within 10 minutes! In the afternoon we went up in a Gondola to do the Luge which is like go-karting down a steep bendy hill. It was so much fun! We went out again on Saturday night to say goodbye to Colette and Brid because they were heading back up North.
On Sunday we woke up to lovely clear blue skies and sunshine! We took a walk around the really beautiful park and lake then found a spot for some much needed sunbathing!
Queenstown is definitely my favourite place in NZ, it's so beautiful and has everything you could want. I'm so glad we dedicated most of our extra time there!
