We spent 2 nights at Point Malcolm camping area, it was calm and flat - lovely. The camp site was visited by a couple of monitors about 80cm long - did not appear to be afraid of humans.
Yesterday we explored the point and fished. One side of the point is a calm bay with sandy areas and lots of rock pools; the other side is a rugged surf-beach where the waves crash agdinat the rocks producing magnificent sprays. Jeff caught a sting ray off the calm beach while fishing for salmon.
He had to kill it to get it off his line safely and Kaidan enjoyed dissecting it!
We have been out of phone/Internet range for 3 days and I am quite excited to be travelling back to civilization today.

Mum I thought you might quite enjoy being out of range for a few days. Sounds wonderful - as you saw we did a minute bit of what you're doing. We have an Indian Summer and have had a few glorious days. My health is so mucn better, I have been able to really enjoy them.
