We left Point Malcolm this morning and drove through Cape Arid NP. The cape is far from arid - there are no tall trees but the land is covered in scrub, including heaps of Banksia - it would be beautiful when the wildflowers are blooming. After a fantastic lunch at a little oasis called the Condingup tavern (where we had reception for the first time in 4 days) we drove to Cape Le Grand NP. Fascinating volcanic hills surround the pure white sand of the bays. The boys couldn't resist swimming in the surf at Lucky Bay and went in fully clothed!! They rinsed off under a warm shower from the Hilux (one of Jeff's bright ideas that has been very successful).
We have had fantastic weather all trip so far, average of 25oC most days and no rain. Tonight we are staying at Rusty's place in Esperance.
