Today we decided to stay at the campground and have a lazy day. We visited local rocks with aboriginal paintings and went for a big swim down the King Edward River. We drove to the river crossing with Darryl and Kerrie then swam / floated back down the river to the campsite. It was lovely to think we are in such a remote area of Australia just cruising with nature! Kerrie wasn't so happy to discover there were crocs 40km downstream.
This morning I had talked to the camp caretaker (DEC volunteers who stay at a campsite for free and collect fees, clean toilets etc.) about driving to Kunanurra before Elquestro so we could buy supplies as we had no fresh fruit or veg left, and the lovely man dropped off a gorgeous pasta salad for us this afternoon.
This evening we had another fire, cooked damper (now known to us as dampier), and enjoyed the company of Darryl, Kerrie and the family from Ballarat (Mark, Jasmine, Max & Tess).
