We spent last night at the Silent Grove camping area, 10km south of Bell Gorge. The last 2 camping areas we stayed at are looked after by NP Rangers, they have clean septic toilets and solar-powered hot showers. It costs $26 per family per night. Each National Park has an $11 per day per car charge also but we bought a 4week NP pass for $40.
I am astounded at what great condition the Gibb river road is in (so far). It has been recently graded as it only opened for the season a couple of weeks ago. Short parts of the road are bitumen.
This morning we met a family from Ballarat who are also traveling in a Hilux with a TruBlu camper. We went for a walk and a swim with them at Bell Gorge, which was beautiful with a wide 10m cascading waterfall.
Tonight we are camping in a bush camp off the side of the road and have made a fire - first for a while - it is quite cool at night in the Kimberley.
