Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Absolutely stuffed. Second Little Italy in 2 nights, plus the free "cocktail hour" at the Hyatt hotel before hand- which consists of a variety of yummy hors-dourves and as much wine as you want-mmm.
Tis fabby to have mum and Gran over and I'm getting to eat and drink as much as I want- which I'm not sure is a good thing :-S.
Friday was a bit frustrating getting through classes, knowing that they would be arriving in KK. Was still banter though cause had a ceilidh/ party with each class and they all brought party food and chilled on guitar etc, which was cooal. Farhan even managed to do strip the willow with a broken arm- highly amusing.
Eventually found myself in the taxi to KK with Aman a little nervous, which was odd since I've only been away 3 months- and as I said to mum, I could have easily not seen her for 3 months on the trot if I'd gone to uni in England or something. Anyway- Mr Soo dropped me off at the Hyatt, Aman headed for NBC and I made my way up to the room we had booked. Both were obviously ecstatic and we spent the first couple of hours going through all the fab stuff they brought out and catching up on the goss. Delved into the UK Cadburys straight away-mmm.
I then dragged them round the hot spots of KK- starting with "The Snack", where Dayana (girl that works there) gave me a big hug and was excited to meet them. We then headed to NBC where I introduced them to the staff and was happy to find that Kirsty M was here for the weekend. I went up to see her upstairs and was absolutely mentally like ahhhhhh to find that Chez was there too!! Absolute ledge that I fell in love with in Penang, along with Bron and Annie that are partners of Kirsty and Chez- all ledges. So I was like- ahh, was dying to catch up with them all, since I hadn't spoken to them since our teaching course, but then I obviously wanted to spend time with mammy and gran too. I introduced everyone to them, then we headed back to the Hyatt for "Cocktail hour", which we soon discovered not only included free drinks, but there was a buffet of dipping snacks, fruit, cakes, satay- rockin. So we had some nibbles and drinks, then headed for dinner at Fatt Kee. I genuinely thought Mum and gran would be a bit more cultured and take the local cuisine and atmosphere in their stride, but they seemed to be a bit miffed at standing in the drizzling rain and not sure if they were too keen on the grot. But ah well, the food rocks.
They were both a bit knacked after their long traveling escapades and thankfully suggested I go out on the randan with the others, so once they were tucked up in bed, I headed back to NBC to surprise the others.
We hit the rice wine straight away that had been provided by some random Belgian guys who had already KO'd. First the others headed for BB while I waited for Chez to debate over the phone with her dad about him selling her bed, then we headed for Roti at the local Indian, and eventually met up and headed for Karaoke. Took a while to find somewhere- but ended up in the "Bee Hive" or something and Georgie and I greatly enjoyed singing to "Always" full blast, then we all headed to BED.
"After 6" were as good as ever however are getting a bit too raunchy. Started with "Sweet child of mine" being sung by the female singer as she swung around the poles. All was going fab and we got called up on stage by the band- me, Georgie, Aman. We got partnered up and we were thinking that it was gona be some kinda dancing competition. But then we were given a shocking example of what was expected of us. We were to do tequila body slammers (bearing in mind we're in an Islamic country and we never usually see people even holding hands here), the 2 locals proceeded to pour salt over the most attractive part of each other, down a tequila test tube and sook on a lemon. We were like- emmmm- we have boyfriends btw. So directly, Aman, Georgie and I exited the stage too many disappointed "boo"s from the audience. They asked for diff volunteers and we managed to persuade Chez to partake in the escapade. What a good sport she is! After the OTT local couple got it on, she had to participate with a dodgy guy and bear her back being licked- was friggin hilarious yet we all thought it was really out of order in this country- their cultures just noot like that!
Later on in the night, we chatted to a freaky local girl in the toilets that warned us to stay clear of Guya Island cause the locals will cast Black Magic on us- so we're thinking that will be our next weekend trip.
I then got a phone call at 2am from mother, informing me that her and Gran couldn't sleep due to frantic worry. Won't say what I thought to that, but to prevent any bother, I managed to persuade Kirsty to chum me back to put their minds at rest.
Returned to the hotel to find that Gran had hit the mini bar to ease the anxiety and neither had had a wink of sleep. Couldn't believe it. They apologized the next day though, which is something.
