Hello! Today was not a very sightseeing filled day... In fact I didn't even really take any pictures!

We left our Kyoto home and travelled by train for 3 hours until arriving in Hiroshima. First point of business after dropping off our bags at the hostel was finding some noms as we were both starving. A lot of things were closed due to the new year break but we luckily stumbled across a ramen shop. I think it was the best ramen we have had in Japan yet! So yummy and the gyoza was delicious as well.

After that we attempted to take the street car to the main shopping district but the crappy map we had didn't have all of the street car lines on it so we ended up about 2.5km away from where we wanted to be. We had a cold and lightly snowy walk to the shopping district where we spent 4 hours fighting the crowds through the sales. I ended up buying a new bag for half price! Bargain!

For dinner we went to one of Shannon's favourite Japanese chain restaurants, Yayoiken. Another eating success for today, although I think the ramen was better!

We are now back in our hostel where we have quite a large room with its own ensuite! A first for this trip, apart from the hotel in Kochi anyway. Tomorrow we are going to go to the Hiroshima Peace Park and other things.
