Happiness Is The Road
When we woke up the sun was shining. It was a beautiful day. After brekky we went shopping at Target for knickers and at Coles and Woolworths for food. We then hit the road out of Albany and along the coast for about 50 kilometres to Denmark which is a gorgeous and charming little town. It felt good to be back here. We parked up and had a mooch around the shops and soaked up the nice vibe of this cute little place before going in the local supermarket to buy honey and lemons. Jay had a sore throat and I felt one potentially coming on so we wanted to dose ourselves up on Jay's amazing honey and lemon cold eradicator. We bought some local wildflower honey and Jay couldn't resist dipping into it as soon as we got outside. She found it to be delicious. I then bravely said I would dip my finger in. In the past I have always hated the flavour of honey. It was the only food I couldn't eat but that changed today. I was expecting to retch but this honey was subtle in flavour and absolutely delicious. I couldn't quite believe I was eating the stuff and really lapping it up. Feeling like Winnie The Poo with yummy honey in my tummy we went to find the caravan park that I had stayed at when I was last here, Ocean Beach Holiday Park. It was a few kilometres from the centre of town on the coast and I wanted to return here as there are loads of kangaroos on the site. We checked in and got what was a nice quiet spot and settled down. We went looking for the kangaroos but there were none about although there was absolutely heaps of roo poo everywhere. They must have all been sleeping in the bush. All was peaceful until about an hour after we got there when a load of 'blokey blokes' turned up with tents. Yet another case of inconsiderate behaviour. They had music blasting out and all of them were shouting like they were plugged into PA systems! Why is it that tough looking 'blokey blokes' never play rock or metal. They always seem to blast out something **** and bland like Rihanna or Bruno Mars! It just makes them appear more soft than hard yet the mindless idiots can't see it. We moved to another spot further away from these musically challenged idiots and enjoyed peace and quiet for the rest of the day. Just before dusk we saw the kangaroos come hopping out from the bush at the back of the campsite and onto the lush grass to eat and graze. There were loads of them and as usual it was wonderful to see these beautiful animals. The rain was back by evening with a few downpours but we didn't mind as we cosied up in the camper van. Jay made us honey and lemon 'get better concoctions' and she messed about with my now long and curly hair making it into ponytails! Happy days.
