Happiness Is The Road
G'day and welcome to a wet day 24. Yesterday had been so lovely weather wise but today I woke up to the sound of rain lashing the camper. I had to have my breakfast inside the camper today. I did have a lovely peaceful night though, which was kind of expected at Peaceful Bay. This is one of the nicest places that I have stayed. My destination for tonight would be Denmark, which I have been told is very laid back and a bit hippyish. I hit Highway 1 just after 10 and it took about an hour to get to Green Pool and Elephant Rocks which are just outside Denmark. Green Pool is a sheltered bay where you could swim and snorkel. There were three very brave lads in the water swimming out to the rocks. It was cold here today, I had my fleece on! Luckily the rain showers had stopped and I had a good walk over the rocks and down the coast a little bit to Elephant Rocks which are quite wonderful to look at. You get to view the rocks from behind and they most definitely resemble about four elephants looking out to sea, check out the photos. I just felt like chilling and doing my blogs and reading for the rest of the day as it was cold and it had started to rain again. I drove into Denmark and stopped at the Bottle Shop for some beers and at the IGA Supermarket for some tasty provisions. I then found the camp site a few kilometres away at Ocean Beach. It was so cold today the lady at reception had put the heating on! The site was very big but very quiet and she put me on a nice secluded spot near the back of the site. She told me that the kangaroos mainly hung out back there and that I would see loads of them at dusk. It was about 3pm now and they were already a couple of roos about. By 5pm there were loads of them, the most roos I've seen in one place up to now. The camp site is just full of roo poo and you have to dodge in and out of it on ablution block visits. Lots of roo poo but thankfully not as many flies here. Seem to have shaken off my fly harem for now! I was going to barbeque my tea tonight but it was too cold and wet so I cooked my tea in the camper. Went to sleep to the sound of rain and the boing boing boing of roos in the woods. Nitey nite.
