Day 12 - 22 Dec 2019
Our first destination was the Natural History Museum. It was just minutes walk from Citadines South Kensington.
The architecture of the Natural History Museum was gorgeous. My sis-in-law observed that all the motifs were intentionally designed differently.
The kids were fascinated by the Dinosaurs’ exhibits. We also went to the mammals section. We had wanted to go to the Darwin Centre but we were all hungry too. In the end, we chose to satisfy the stomachs and left the Natural History Museum.
We had lunch at Garfunkel’s restaurant which was very near Gloucester Road station. There wasn’t any planned itinerary for the afternoon. After some researching, we decided to go to St Luke’s Playground which was about 6 or 7 bus stops away from where stayed.
We went back to the hotel to drop off some stuff first before heading out to St Luke’s Playground. H had wanted to join us but her shoes gave way while waiting for the bus. Her dad then brought her to buy a pair of new shoes which became a greater priority than playing at the playground.
At the playground, our boys just explored and had fun, moving from the swing to the mini-firefox. The kids had such a wonderful time and had it not been the personnel who announced that the playground would be closed, our kids could still probably go on.
At night, we (H together with our family) had a quick dinner at Yo Sushi at Southbank Centre. After that, we watched Circus 1903 at the Royal Festival Hall. The performance was entertaining from the beginning to the end. There were many heart-stopping moments as many daredevil acts were attempted. There were also many hilarious moments as the host interacted with the audience. We had great fun. And all of us enjoyed the show very much.
After the show, we went back to the hotel. We packed as we had an early flight to catch the next day. Overall, it was a lovely trip.
