Day 6 (Day 1 in London):
It was a great morning and breakfast at Iceni was anything but excellent. After breakfast, we took a bus to Cambridge train station and took the 10am train to head towards London. It was about an hour ride.
When we arrived, we tried to look for the apartment which we had booked online. It was a pretty far walk from the tube station as we lugged our luggages along. But this was just a tip of the iceberg; a greater shock awaited us when we finally found the place.
It was a hoax. The address was real but everything else was bogus. We rang the door bell several times but no one came to our door. Dismayed, we suspected something was really quite wrong. It was at this time when we met Mr Graham Franklin, who is a neighbour to the bona fide owner. He called her and got Emma to the phone. Our hunch was confirmed when she told Emma that this was not the first case that her address was misused by the swindler.
Every cloud has a silver lining. Graham showed his kindness to us. He invited us to his place whilst we searched for an alternative accommodation (He even made me a cup of coffee). Emma had a sudden brainwave. She called Trafalgar tour and requested it to book a hotel on our behalf. They did and finally, we were settled in a pretty opulent hotel, the Plaza Park Riverbank, which was located along the famous River Thames in the city of London.
At night, we watched the musical "Wicked". The storyline was excellent and the music was very well written. Initially, though we misconceived that the plot might be "dark", it turned out that we enjoyed it through and through.
