Tuesday, last week, we visited movie world first to see the stunt show that we'd missed last time, it was pretty cool with cars and motorbikes racing everywhere and performing some big jumps. After the show we headed north to see Surfers Paradise, it was very windy and started to drizzle so we had a brisk walk along the beach and sought shelter in the shopping centre!
Wednesday we had a chill out day where we watched some of the films from Ronnie's huge collection and had quite a productive gym session in the evening.
Thursday was sadly Jen and Mikes last full day with us, they headed home a little earlier than expected mainly due to money running out quickly. We decided it would be good to visit wet and wild for the last time. We got there, did a few rides and swam in the wave pool for a while before heading out to have lunch and deciding we weren't much in the mood to queue or climb steps! So after some deliberating we headed back towards tweed, we got stuck in quite a bit of traffic annoyingly but decided to stop at the creek as the sun was out. Was a very nice area we laid our stuff on the sand and dived into the clear water for most of the time, we left early to head to the gym and sort out our return deposits we'd laid down.
Friday involved Jen and Mike packing for the morning while me and Amy planned our activities and adventures going forward. We were looking at tours or the possibility of getting a campervan to do the rest of the east coast but both options were ridiculously expensive so we've had to cut a few things. We loaded up the car and I drove everyone towards Brisbane, I thought I did very well for my first proper time driving a fair distance in a car a lot bigger than mine at home! We stopped off at a nearby shopping centre and had our last supper together at Sizzler ate a lot and killed a bit of waiting time before they had to check in and then all that was left was a quick emotional goodbye! Feels weird with just the two of us again and very quiet! We felt like we should be moving on somewhere with them but I didn't envy the temperature drop they'd be welcomed with at home! Jens mum was bringing blankets to meet them with!
Saturday we had a quiet day where we did some more planning and picked up our new hire car... What a beast! Even bigger than the last one but the cheapest option so we had to get used to it quickly! Been doing well but we've ensured to get the easiest car parks we can, we both refuse to parallel park the thing!
Sunday me and Amy took a stroll to the lake, down the road from where we staying. Walked for about two hours, it wasn't too hot just about the right temperature to battle the steep hill coming back. It was very peaceful down there, a nice walking path.
Yesterday we had a beach day back at snapper rocks/rainbow may in Coolangatta, it worked out very well because the weather turned out to be gorgeous contradicting the storm forecasts and we caught more of the quicksilver pro surfing tournament.
Today we explored Burleigh heads National Park, went for a good hour hike with some nice view points out over the creek and coast. After we checked out a new shopping centre, was big one so we had lots to browse through.
