The day after a few exciting but credit card draining days was quite quiet. Me and Amy prepped for Jens birthday by running around the shopping centre trying to be discreet and throwing Jen off the scent. We bought her Havanias (flip flops) and a wooden 'A' standing for Australia. While Mike took Jen out the way for a gym session me and Amy got to work in the food hall with marker pens drawing the globe on the outside with some flags. Later we added ever place we'd been to together as one border on the front and a number of quotes that have cropped up and made us laugh along the way. After Jen had gone to bed we put up some banners and blew up balloons, forgetting Judy was allergic to latex (oops!), we quickly moved them out of the way.
For Jens birthday on Saturday we were up early for another celebratory champagne brekkie of salmon and eggs and she opened her presents. She had waited a while though as she'd been up and excited at 05:04! 24?! More like 4! She did very well and got a jacket, some choccies and chewing gym from mike. Her chosen activity for the day was putt putt crazy golf which was good fun, we paid for 3 games but played one round of 18 holes as we were hungry and could use our tickets on a different day. The rest of the day was spend at the sushi train, her chosen restaurant where we stuffed ourselves silly- they had a sale of any plate for $3, so for our budget of $20 that was quite a lot of sushi! Was good food though and worth the wait to get in, obviously a good offer! That evening we had a quick dip in the pool and a few drinks and had a funny game of cheers to the govn'r!
Sunday, we got up and on the neighbours suggestion went down to see the world surfing competition, the quicksilver world pros, just at Rainbow bay/ snapper rocks- the next beach around to us. It was a beautiful day and a great atmosphere down there with people coming from all over the world there was quite a crowd. In the afternoon Judy's friend, Ronnie put on a great barbie we were invited to and even let us raid her very extensive DVD collection.
Today we went back to the putt putt greens to finish off our 2 games, it was quite grey with some heavy showers today but luckily most of it was undercover. We had a close few rounds, I managed to win the last game but mike had won the past 3 so he was overall champion, I came in second, Amy was third and Jen unfortunately came in last. Sad news for her but good for me as I'd made a deal if she won I'd buy her a bracelet set she wanted and a surprise. We had a huuuuge lunch at sizzler which had unlimited Salad cart, drinks and desert which accompanied a tasty steak and chips, very good value! Then we made our way back to our favourite gym of the travels for a free Zumba class which Mike opted out of!
