Wednesday we went to sea world park, this was the park I was most excited about! Not so many rides but lots of animals. We'd been told to get there early for opening and head straight to the polar bear enclosure as little cub Henry is more likely to be out and playful with his mum than later in the day. The border and time zone difference is very useful for days like this as we don't have to get up excessively early, we leave at 10 am New South Wales time to get to the parks at 10am Queensland time. So we locked our cool bag in a locker and headed to the polar bears! They weren't out straight away but after a few minutes big dada and uncle came strolling out! They were huge! Scary bears but absolutely gorgeous, so much heavy fur! No sign of baby bear but we had a good view of dad as he went about ripping into fish left around for him to find. It was an absolute scorcher of a day, very very hot their icy cold waters looked very inviting. A big school group came in so we left and found ourselves in the ray pools, had a good feel of their slimey wings as they gracefully glided past and waved above the water. We set off towards the dolphin show at 11:15 and caught the penguin feeding with dolphins splashing about in pools behind. Saw most of the penguin feeding and then went with the crowd forming to the arena to see the imagine show. I was blown away! First time Id seen dolphins and they were amazing! Couldn't believe how intelligent and powerful they were! All 6 dolphins synchronising jumps and flips, getting some big hops from the water! They were very fast swimming around the edges of the pool on command and waved, flapped their tails and rolled when asked to. Then the trainers got involved, holding onto their fins and being carried very fast through the water, then one trainer had a dolphin on each foot and brought her upright out of the water and then forward for her to dive off. Then there was on trainer who impressed us all by literally standing and surfing the dolphin at speed, keeping her balance across the pool. It was amazing to watch and it looked like the dolphins loved showing off! After a great show we headed off for our home packed ham sarnies and we popped back to the polar bears to catch little Henry being michevious and playful with his mum in between searching for carrots! He was so cute and mum was making us laugh by diving into the water and then coming up on her back and wiping her eyes and fur. After lunch we had some time watching the bigger king penguins in the very cold indoor inclosure with their gangster waddles on the ice, we had great fun putting voices to them. We met back up with mike and grabbed a cable car up above and over the park right over the dolphin pools. We did the flume ride which I could cope happily with but wasn't that great then we went to see the bigger fish, rays and sharks at shark bay. Got to touch some big starfish and sea cucumbers and then we had quite a while just watching the exotic fish, rays, giant turtle, and sharks. Took me back to my shark dive in Fiji, would love to do that again!! A lot of the big rides weren't open today so we'll be going back, I'm contemplating paying to swim with the dolphins as it's always something I wanted to do as a kid and just love them! Jen and Mike might do the snorkle encounter and Amy might meet a penguin. We finished the day off with a not very productive gym session and a dip in the pool.
Yesterday although the weather forecast had predicted rain we had another scorcher so we lounged about by the pool most of the day resulting in a few rosy faces. I got myself a migraine after a gym session so I hit the hay early. Today we've had a chill day which has helped to get over my foggy migraine hangover and has been nice to have a good few films playing. This morning we got up pretty early to swap our hire car over to a cheaper deal. We had to say bye to TJ Leeroy and welcomed Igo by Toyota to the group a much older boy.
