So this morning at 4:30am Chip hopped in the taxi and headed toward Cork Airport to leave Ireland! It was an awesome visit, and it was soooo good to see him and a familiar face from home. The best start to the visit was when he had surprised me a day earlier than he said he was going to be here! Alex had helped him figure out how to get here without me knowing a whole day early, and that extra day was PERFECT. It was the best surprise ever and made me so happy!! We had a great week and I showed him around the city, where I lived, and the University Campus. Honestly he loved it, but it was funny because he didn't really care what we did as long as he was here with me! It was so nice to just relax and not worry about much for a week and enjoy going out every night and to dinners and getting spoiled- I'll say! I didn't hate it :) I took him to all of my favorite places, which soon became his. He particularly loved the Whoolshed, and Australian bar and a favorite of mine!! It was so nice to be able to go out for drinks together, even if it did always ring the bill up a little higher- but we always had a great time. Almost everynight we were at the oliver plunkett listening to live bands play and enjoying eachothers company- I LOVED it and wish he could have stayed longer. We took some day trips to Blarney Castle, of course- and Chip Kissed the Blarney Stone!!! He almost didn't do it!! I also took him to two of the most wellknown and beautiful coastal towns- Kinsale and Cobh. Cobh was a great day and beautiful weather as well. Us two love being near the water and the coast, and for us is what we love the most. So this was a perfect place to enjoy the water and scenary and each others company. That same day we went to FOTA- a wildlife "zoo" and that was really fun as well. We hopped on the same train that we did for Cobh, and it was a nice stop along the way! I then took him to my favorite, and his now favorite place- Kinsale. It is a smaller scale than Cobh, but it is even more beautiful and homelike for the two of us- a cute harbor town. We grabbed lunch at a little café, walked around Charles Fort which was a beautiful view of the town, and had dinner FISH AND CHIPS of course!! Honestly, we couldn't have gone anywhere and we would have had just as an amazing of a time. The best part about him visiting was that my best friend was visiting me. We don't need much to make us happy and to be entertained. For us it's the simple things we enjoy and eachother's company. I really wish he didn't have to leave and that we had gotten a few more days together… But I'm so happy he got to visit me here in Ireland, and he got to experience it here. I'm so happy I got an "extra" day with him. I wouldn't have traded it for anything, and even though it's bittersweet- it's never goodbye! :)
Until Next time,
Cheers!
