So this weekend was the big "Ring of Kerry" Trip- which there were like 45 Quinnipiac students and 50 Loyola students. To say the least the trip definitely did not go how we intended it to. The ring of Kerry is this gorgeous coastal tour and views throughout Country Kerry and Kilarney. However the weather was HORRIBLE this weekend. And when I say Horrible- I mean that the trip should have been canceled and re scheduled for a different weekend. For starters we were suppose to see these gorgeous cliffs and ocean view while in Kerry. Well we did.. however the winds were blowing over 50mph and the stupid ass tour guide, who we all wanted to kill by the end of the trip, still though it would be a good idea to still go and see this cliffs. Needless to say we BARELY made it across the bridge to the Island when the winds were so strong they blew off the front windshield to our tour bus. THAT'S HOW STRONG THE WINDS WERE. We were then stranded on the side of this 100 plus foot cliff, with raging sees and swells for over an hour while waiting for another bus. The bus was rocking and swaying, and holly alex myself and a couple of other girls wanted to get off the bus and put our feet on the ground- and we did. We sat along the curb of the "road" against some hay- and it was much better than panicking on the bus.. on the side of the cliff. The stupid ass tour guide was laughing at all of us about how scared we were- I honestly wanted to friken punch her in the face. She LITERALLY was the friken person playing the god damn violin while the titanic sank. UGH! After the new bus finally came we all literally did not give a damn about what we were doing next.. all we wanted to do was leave the damn island. Thank the lord that we atleast were staying in a really nice hotel, with meals provided, heat, hot shower, and I got to share a room with my two best friends. Once dinner came that night we literally could not stop eating it was SO GOOD- and probably one of the best parts of the trip. We literally were going to puke we had gotten so full, but after that day it was totally worth it. The weather had gotten so bad that the town was actually closed due to roofs coming undone and flying off. SO we were stranded and stuck in the hotel for the rest of the night. And the tour guide had driven us to drink.. at least all the Quinnipiac students. Because a few hours after dinner literally ALL of the Quinnipiac students headed for the convienient store. SHE WAS THAT UNBEARABLE. But today the weather was a little better and we were able to see the coast, which made me a very happy girl. The view of the ocean was unbelievable and the pictures cannot do it justice. I was able to put my feet in the ocean on the other side of the Atlantic, and it was just beautiful. It made the rest of the not so good things about this weekend go away. And honestly, even though it was a rough weekend.. and it didn't go EXACTLY how we had planned it.. I know that we will literally be DYING of tears when we remember this damn weekend a few years from now- it will probably take a lot of time- but we will.
Until Next Time,
Cheers!
