Today was the definition of a perfect day as Holly, Alex and I traveled to Kinsale, Ireland- One of the oldest fishing harbors in Ireland. It was a beautiful day, yet again with the sun shining and no rain- we were really lucky that it was so gorgeous out! Kinsale is a typical harbor town, but still beyond gorgeous- and honestly has been my favorite place in Ireland yet. Something about being near the water makes me feel at ease and like I am back home- it really was such a relaxing day, and beyond great full to just breathe in that salt-water air again as I have missed it so much! Kinsale was adorable and like any other harbor town was filled with little shops, bakeries and restaurants! Of course we already knew where we wanted to eat before we had even gotten there- A very well known seafood restaurant called, "Fishy Fishy"- Very popular among tourists and locals and stays open year round due to how DELICIOUS it is- and does really good business even on off season! Literally the BEST seafood I have had ANYWHERE! It was a little pricey- but TOTALLY worth it! Of course we all ordered Fish and Chips! The fries were phenomenal and the fish was SOOOO GOOD I can't even put it into words- I don't think the three of us were ever that quiet- we were eating so slow because we just didn't want it to be gone! And the fact that we haven't dined out in over two weeks with a nice meal made it that much better! It was hilarious how into the food we were… priceless. IT WAS JUST SO GOOD!!!!! After our late lunch we then walked around the town some more and looked around at the cute little shops- and later walked to Charles Fort- which was beautiful!- AFTER we walked about two miles to it up REALLY steep hills- But at least we got to walk off our lunch, and now two miles is nothing to us because we literally walk everywhere anyways! The view from the fort was absolutely breathtaking and pictures cannot even do it justice! There are no words to even describe it but absolutely beautiful! And after we had a nice walk to burn off our big lunch- we of course then had to get some dessert and coffee! We stumbled upon a chocolate shop, of course, and chatted with the women working who was from Kinsale for a little while- She was so nice and we got free chocolate samples! The place we wanted to go to in the town ended up closing and we missed it- but we ended up at an even cuter café called "Poets Corner". It was filled with bookshelves and books with places to sit- all kinds of desserts, pastries, and drinks. We sat by the window and ordered some Cappuccinos and slices of cake- I of course got the BEST carrot cake I have EVER had- UGH it was just so good. We definitely indulged ourselves on this trip, but it was worth every penny and I am so happy we did- because it made the trip that much better. I have fallen in love with Kinsale and it is my favorite place on this planet- just beyond beautiful. We had such a good day and made so many memories- I can't wait to go back!
Until Next time,
Cheers! :)
