HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY EVERYONE!! I am so happy to be celebrating St Patrick's Day here in Cork, Ireland! What an AWESOME day we had today. The city was lively and once again FILLED with so many people. We started our day off right with some cider and our cereal before we headed out to the parade. We of COURSE had to dress in green and go all out.. IDC what people say.. that Ireland and actual Irish people don't get dressedup... THATS CRAP. Because they do, and if not more haha. It was fun to get dressed up and head to the parade. We Picked our spot on St Patricks Street- There's really no better place, or way to watch the parade, than to watch it on PATRICK'S STREET! It was perfect, and like being home watching the parade in Southie.. just on a little bigger of a scale. The parade itself lasted for a couple hours and was a decent size. We got a kick out of seeing the MASS State Police in the parade- they got a HUGE cheer of excitement, and that was pretty cool to see. As well as when floats would go by playing the Drop Kick Murphy's "Shipping up to Boston" :) We joined right in!.. Once the parade ended it was of course a mad dash to the pubs. We ended up going to the Old Oak, one of our regualr spots- and it was PACKED, but we loved it! We all ordered some drinks and had a grand time. There was live music and everything, and the vibe of being in Ireland for this holiday was amazing, there was no better feeling than being with all of the Irish! What was funny is that, families were in the pubs.. and little kids running around. I guess it's what they do on holidays, but it was funny to see. We snagged our pint glasses for souviners and headed out our merry way to grab some food!!! We ended up on the Grand Parade and walked through some food tents and ended up getting an O'Flyns Sausauge- the BEST sausage in town, and which also was our first "meal" here in Ireland back in January. It was SOOOOO good. Got EVERYTHING on it- Sweet chili, peppers, onions, mustard- you name it, I got it. It was sooooo gooood. We then went down Oliver Plunkett Street to Grab some of Gino's Gelato which hit the spot :) It was a perfect day and the best way to spend St Patrick's Day!!!! I love this city so much and so happy that we stayed here with the locals rather than trying to ship up to Dublin, where it is just madness and craziness! I really am going to miss THIS place so much..
Until Next Time,
Cheers!
