I took my mother & father to the Silvers to be collected by a lady called Sandy who ha recently visited them in the UK. Sandy had kindly organised for them to be taken up in propellor plane & flown along the North Carolina coastline.
The rest of us headed out for brunch for more chicken. No Mountain Dew here but lots of free refills of Mellow Yello. I even ended up with an unpaid for bonus chicken sandwich.
After brunch all I wished to do was sunbathe as the heat had picked up dramatically. I only managed this for just over an hour before the girls became restless & wanted to head out. I reactivated my US mobile & found a place showing that should be showing the Newcastle game on Thursday. We then stopped by Carolina own Krispy Kreme now so prevalent in the UK.
People split into various groups this evening. My father & I headed over to the Taylor's who I stayed with last year to say hello.
After catching up, Randy set about making sure we all had a set of golf clubs for the week. We arranged some golf for the weekend, and Cameron negotiated an early finish on Thursday to come watch the toon game.
When we left the Taylor's no one was yet back at the Silvers so we headed to the Carolina Ale house to watch some of the ECU basketball. The Ale House was packed, but we managed to grab the last two stools at the bar. They have quite an impressive range of beers from all around the states and beyond. Of course Brown Ale was on draught but we opted for some American microbrews.
The night was rounded off with sandwiches back at the Silvers as we collected Charlotte and Lorna.
