Adventures of Gamblegirl: An open letter to my parents
Dear Mazza Mu and Jonno too
The other day I received an envelope, mauve in colour, the hand writing oh so familiar, immediately I knew who it was from. Naturally I couldn't wait to rip it open, to pull out a touching card from my parents.
The timing was perfect as this last long month drags on, my impatience to board my plane growing with each day. All thru out my journey, you've always had great timing - whether it's a phone call, an email, a card or your actual selves of being there.
You've been great support thru out this whole adventure and I thank you. Without you, there would have been times that I would have liked to to have done nothing more then grab the next plane home. As there were nights that I curled up in bed and tried to not let my tears be heard or when I felt extremely isolated from all those that I know and care for, you've been there. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to pay off some of my card (and this is not a joke either) as the cost of living in London and not having a perm job, became a financial strain.
But most of all, I want to thank you for just being Jonno and Maz. For when I call on Sunday nights, you always run to the phone and even though you've had a year and a half practice (combined between Steph and myself) you still ain't got the hang of the international pause. Bless. Every time I hang up, I always have a smile on my face and love in my heart.
So to put it simply - thank you.
