Adventures of Gamblegirl: The Cotswolds
Okay - take two. I'm sure you will let me know if it is unreadable.
Sigh - what can't you people read foreign complex code? What's wrong with you!!!!
Another day trip for this little traveler. This time off to the Cotswolds. Talk about being postcard perfect. They are exactly what you'd imagine a little English village to look like, stone cottages, one main street which has more art and craft stores then you can poke a stick at. Peter Rabbit shops are very popular in the Cotswolds. Sorry Matt but I have to go in. Sorry matey to drag you in, but I get flashes of nostalgia. Bourton on Water was extremely pretty with it's little bridges and it's "river" and I do use that word very loosely. Sure it was more of a CREEK if I am feeling generous (in reality it was an oversized puddle). Saw the cutest sight - ducklings trying to swim against the current. Very cute.
I half expected Mr Toad, Mr Badger and co (that's a rusty reference to Wind In the Willows for those that don't have a clue what I am talking about) to make an appearance at any moment. It was hot, sunny and that oversized puddle was looking damn good. Was wishing that I'd worn slip on shoes so that I could go paddling.
While at Bourton I realized something - I don't think mazes are for me. Apparently it takes only 20 mins to do, but for me and my traveling musketeers try over half an hour to forty minutes. Yep challenged I am, challenged. Then we went to Stow on the Wold where I had a scone, jam and cream (check that off the list of things to do!!!) and watched as the once extremely sunny and hot day turned within a blink of an eye and the rain poured down.
Suddenly it was a mad dive for the bus for some kind of shelter. I had an umbrella and got soaked.
Caught up with my cousin while she was doing her whirlwind trip. Her tour sounds pretty full on but it sounds like it was covering a lot a great places to go to.
All's good
