Adventures of Gamblegirl - Christmas
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all
Did you all have a good christmas? Get spoilt by Santa? I know I did. But before I go on, on my way here, it was snowing. Am giddy with delight. It's snowing!!! Sure will be over this in a few moments but it's snowing!!!
I had a fabulous Christmas - not a white one which was a bit disappointing but I've already had one of those and can't be too greedy. But it was fabulous regardless. But will get to that soon.
One thing that I am very bad at is recognising people in a crowd. Dylan will know what I'm talking about. He's practically been in my face, waving at me to get me attention. So it's my worst fear that when Jonno and Mazza Mu aka my PARENTS!!! walk thru the doors at the airport, I won't recognise them.
I know, I know, they are my parents and I've only known them for 27 years but it's been 9 mths!!! Will they look any different? Older? Greyer? In Jonno's case that's a yes. Will I look any different? What if they don't recognise ME?!?! Thank god Steph had a sign - just in case.
At the risk of being a dork but i like my parents. Not because they are my parents but because they are good people. I've generally missed them and kinda missed a bit of mum TLC, so was very excited to see them. I guess with everything that's happened recently, they've been likc a much needed support. I've felt a bit emotionally isolated lately, so it's nice to have them here. And to be spoilt and fussed over. The good things parents do.
So they arrived and off to Oxford it was. Chat, chat, chat, chat, chat. So much to say about such a long period of time. It was good to have them around. Imported for Christmas as you can understand. My christmas was spent in Oxford. Steph and Simon cooked up a storm and we stuffed ourselves silly. Did the dumb jokes bit out of the bon bons and all. Though wasn't the same without the Kuipers there but it was still a lot of fun. We had soo much yummy food that we still have xmas pud to eat!!! Naturally we did the pressie thing and this year the Queen of the pressies went to Steph. Holy moly - they just kept coming.
Then after xmas we all loaded up into the car and headed off to Kent. How's pretty is Kent? And what a shock - there are four wheel drives in Kent. And plenty of them. Our actual destinated was Pembry to visit some friends of my parents called Carol and Stuart. They have a little farm. So I have officially been on an English farm. A real English farm. And by the looks of things - Wellies were gonna be the no 1 footwear.
For New Year's it's back at Oxford to a pub for a rather yummy sounding feast. Should be good, am looking forward to it. Then it's my turn to play host to my parents around London which I am looking forward to.
Now just gotta think of somewhere to go...
