Adventures of Gamblegirl - an update
Okay so I have a bit of time today so can do a nice update.
First of all let me just say, I hate this keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's crap. And strange and just not working with the game plan here!!!!
Second of all, I will try and not start every paragraph with So as I did last time. Yes I will try and expand my vocabulary.
Thirdly Jules, I don't care if this is warm weather, it's still flipping cold for me!!! Oh well, will have some adjusting to do.
Okay dokey, the update. So suffered thru the following on the plane; a) shocking turbulance which I don't like AT ALL. Because it's a well documented fact that I am a massive scaredy cat and hate anything that drops suddenly (and for those that have been on the one rollar coaster that I have been on ie Tracy and that friggin water ride at Disney land that scared the living suitcases out of me, will well and truly be aware of this), b) I had crying children on my flight. Hmmmmmm the less said the better about that, c) I had to suffer thru a Star Trek movie and a Mariah Carey movie and then Maid In Manhattan came on. Jeez, sleep was looking real good.
Actually I did sleep. Really well. From my flight from Melbourne to Singapore (no I don't have the flu!!!) I had the 4 seater to myself which meant that I can lie down and have a leetle snooze. Then from Singapore to Dubai I gave up the end seat out of pity for a poor Melbournian guy that was going to Spain because he was jammed between a fighting married couple. Yes I am such a humanitarian. The less said about the last leg of the flight the better!!!!! Oh yeah, I turned a nice shade of pale green.
I like London. Have made a couple of friends from my hostel which is good. Now have my phone set up, so if you want to text me and say hi, my number is 07788795302. Pls do, can still have chats as some has found out. Apparently my phone went off more then anyone in my room's, so make me proud!
Have been getting out and about. Took the on/off bus ride which helped orientate myself and was really good. I've also been the London dungeon (yes once again, my scaredy cat nature was shown) which was a combination of tacky, gruesome, macarbe and sickening, which of course, I LOVED IT!!! Mazza G, honey don't think that it's for you. But had some really annoying German school children in my group. Yes think about my love for high school children, combined with then talking in German in my ear. It's lucky that I didn't grab one of the tourture instruments and use them. Pretty funny when the actor cracked it with their talking and shouted mid-performance "shut the (£$%&$(&%($& up!"
I have also caught the tube. Three of us bit the dust and decided to go to Earls Court and check it out. So we caught the tube. Yes, we looked like dorks, but hey. It's not that hard, but just finding what bloody line to catch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So am spending the day in Earls Court which is supposed to be backpacker, holiday maker heaven. Can't wait. Am also trying to find myself a post office box form my mail. Tomorrow am off to the Tower of London. Yay!!!!!!!
Had an interesting experience. Got felt up by some old man. Was asking directions on how to get to the vodafone shop in regent street, when he took my hand and starting hugging me into him. Hullo!!!! Is what I am thinking. A bit forward don't you think? Then he asks for me name and my usual thing if I think not, is to tell them my name is Rachel. So he gives me directions and then starts trying to kiss me - not once but twice. Sleezy old b******. So I wiggled out of that one and bolted. Yes welcome to London Bec.
Well must be off. Have a few lasting thoughts before I go, a) the food is crap - it's all fried!!!!!!!! b) the telly is even crapper!!!! c)holy moley it's big d) they are all insane drivers over here. There is absolutely no way in hell that I am driving in London. Do you even have road rules??????????
Next week off to Bath, Bristol and a few other places with Simon and Steph. Have given them all hugs and said big hello's for you all. Carmel, Steph loved her jelly beans.
Miss you all but am having a good time (now have to ruin that by getting a job!!! b*****)
Cheers
Gamblegirl
