Adventures of Gamblegirl - An update
Happy Easter to all.
Yes I know it's a bit late for all that are in the Southern Hemisphere but hey it's the thought that counts right!!!??????
Have so much since my last email. Firstly let me say that I have a place. And no it's not a cardboard box to camp in under Tower Bridge! I am in a shared house in Willsden Green. I share a room (and a rather nice large spacious room too) with one of the girls I met at the hostel. In fact everyone that was in the room I was in at the hostel have all moved into this one house. Funnily enough we are all Australian's and most of us are Melbournians. Can't escape us at all!!! There's 16 rooms and over 20 of us in the house. It's a good group - although we have this Spanish guy who I swear to god, looks like man girl!!!!! No kidding, he has this female like lower body and even his features look feminine. I swear I have spotted him with better applied foundation then what I can do. There's a theory going around the house by some that he's had a sex change, whatever the case is, he looks like a man girl!
Nice place where we are at. Quiet but not dead. 5 min walk from the tube station, 5 to the shops, it's great. And so far I have counted 6 "locals" around us. Surely that has to be good! I love the pub culture over here. It's so casual, it's sweet. Mind you I am loving the off-licence stores that are on every corner. It's all good really.
I have a temp assignment at the moment. I am at this company that goes into other companies and does health assignments ie how to make the company employees healthier. It's pretty cool, all funky and bright. My job is to clean up their database. It's a nightmare but I am loving it. But I've noticed already that they don't work real hard (rolling eyes). Hmmmmm, it's interesting because they are all freaking out about how hard I am working but it's like I'm not. Makes me laugh.
I've been the sight seeing little queen. London Tower, Westminster, went on the London eye which blew me away. The views.... oh man. It's was speech robbing. Except for this little s*** that was in our carriage. All he kept saying was "mummy, what would happen if we fall?" My mutterings were, well lets open the carriage door and do an experiment shall we? And can we all see why I don't want to become a mother????? Bath was soooo pretty. Went to the Roman Baths and drank the water. Was sick afterwards (hey!!! I thought it was supposed to bring you good health and prosperity?!?!? Actually thinking about it, after that I have been really healthy - hmmmm might reconsider that!!!), Bristol was funky, had this massive disco like ball which I have no idea what it's for but it's in a perfect spot for an outside club in the middle of summer. Then went to Cardiff which was another pretty spot. Went to Cardiff castle - which I am still picking up my jaw at how spectacular the house is!!!!
Saw Stonehenge as well. That was awesome. Bloody cold but awesome. It's almost freakish. There's nothing out there but grass and these stones. Then we went on the hunt for one of the whitehorses. Finally found one after walking up a hill and being totally off track. Too bad didn't see the naked man one. Sorry Dyl - let you down darling but got a postcard for you!!!
Here's my final thought.... if anyone in London owns a stairmaster, they need to take a good bloody look at themselves. Geez the stairs!!!
Take care all.
Gamblegirl
Love and kisses from your neighbourhood freak!!!!
