We have travelled north over the last week and we are now south of Salta. The terrain has been very desert like and the roads are awful again. It is a constant battle to contain the dust and there is a covering over everything in the truck! it is very hard to believe that we have now been travelling for 4 months, we have done 7000 miles . Life is really pleasant and every day is still a surprise! We have cycled in the national parks and we have visited a number of bodegas. The wine is very good and very cheap. The last bottle in the winery was an amazing £2.50 and was good quality! we buy boxes of wine, I litre is £1 . The mountain passes are stupendous and the valleys we are going through are vast and almost empty. The roads are dead straight and go for miles and miles. There are even signs to warn you when there is a bend coming up! life is very rural and most people seem to have very little, but we still get waves from all and sundry as we drive along even the police .The next few days will take us to the Chile border and we will visit the salt flats before trying to head into Bolivia. it will be quite sad to say goodbye to Argentina and Chile, we seem to have been here for a long time in some ways. Still, onward onward, !!!!!
