We have finally left Quito after a frustrating few days trying to get the paperwork sorted and signed. He got a tow truck and we found a car park which allowed us to stay with them and sleep there. We have just returned from 5 days in the Amazon Rainforest which was pretty spectacular. We did of course have very heavy rain but it didn't stop us seeing things and walking. We felt really relaxed when we returned from the Galapagos Islands it had been such an experience. When we got back to Guayaguil it was to learn that Peter and Jackies truck was not ready . We made the difficult decision to head off on our own as we couldn't be sure when it would be fixed. We have had the most memorable time over the last week. We have seen a vast array of birds, from the frigate bird with it's magnificent red throat that it puffs out like a balloon to attract the females, to the albatross which were sitting on their nests and then waddling over to the cliff to fly.
