We allow ourselves a slow morning to recover from 2 mornings of getting up ridonkulously early to watch the sunrise. When we eventually surface, Jaypee very kindly makes us all omelette for breakfast - these two really are too kind!
Rather frustratingly, the trains from Carlton are suspended this weekend, so we walk to Kogarah for coffee. There isn't much around here (Stacey did warn us) so after 2 coffees we get a bus down to San Souci on the coast. The beach is gorgeous, and we make a note to do more beaches while we're here! There's some sort of yachting/sailing race happening, so we hang out in the Sailing Club with a great view, planning our remaining time in Australia! (Sob). We book a hire car for a week to drive to Canberra and back (with a quick jaunt into the Blue Mountains on the way) and our first few places to stay. Once we're back in Sydney, we hope to relax in the sunshine for 10 days before our flight home!
On our way back to Stacey and Jaypee's, we discuss what to have for dinner:
AF: What do you fancy?
AB: Something healthy... Salad?
AF: Mmhmm. Or.... we could go to that Lebanese chicken place...
AB: .....Yeah, okay.
So, having earlier discussed how we needed to join a gym as soon as we get back, we had chicken and chips (and salad) for dinner. And it was delicious.
Back at Stacey and Jaypee's, to add to our unhealthy eating, they take us on a "dessert run" at about 10pm. We pick up a friend of Jaypee's, and Stacey drives us all to a pop-up waffle food truck in a deserted car park in Marrickville. Food trucks are a very Sydney thing, apparently. It's clearly wildly popular - there's a surprising amount of people here, and when we order we're warned it's a 30 minute wait for our waffles!
