On the bus into Central, Alex spotted a starred coffee shop from before. Why not?? Surry Hills is supposed to be where it's at anyway...and this could be our last proper coffee in Oz!!Option of cold still or sparking mineral water. This was dispensed from a central tap, and was ice cold, and filtered. It was delicious and fabulous. Really impressed actually (as strange as that sounds). Much better than jugs of water, which empty themselves, and are always too...

Oh wait! But there's more!Temped by the posh looking cafe in SYD international airport, we plump for one last hurrah. Except they decide to want to serve us the coffee in a paper cup. As each moment passed, it tasted more of cardboard. (??)It's dark. So dark. Like the night... After a bush fire. Plenty of carbon in this one. In short, it's fairly disgusting. Water is an absolute necessity. Like the Circular Quay coffee... This one again reminds me of...

The sun won. It also does, doesn't it? Both feeling a little sore from our sunning yesterday, on our penultimate day! Ha. Washing. Amble down to Coogee for coffee. New place we haven't tried before. Man comments on my bank card... Finally. Fine, fine day. Hide in Pavilion. Scrabble. Alex cheats. It's a draw. Back home, shower and late lunch. We've walked past this a couple of times on our way down the hill to Coogee Beach. Their logo also features a fox! Although the fox has got a goose by the neck... The coffee is too hot initially, with almost non-existent latte art (not that that really matters) and overall a not spectacular taste. Honestly, Melbourne has ruined us for coffee. AB

Today is our penultimate full day in Australia. Aaaaah! The forecast has been good, and the sun is shining, so we've planned a beach day. After breakfast at home we trek to a coffee place rated "best coffee in Coogee" which was a bit of a disappointment (see other blog). We then hunted around for some more sunscreen. We've recently downgraded from SPF50 to 30, for our final week, but kudos to the Australian pharmacists; 90% of their stock is SPF50! Or sun...
