We left Albany and headed off for Esperance. The drive was mostly uneventful, but the landscape was really pretty, and with storms about the sky was a steely grey colour.
We stopped for the night at a bush camp on the beach at Mulingyup. It was $10 for the night..brilliant. We set up and went for a walk to the beach, and discovered a beautiful natural bay similar to Green Pool. The storm was still hanging around and it was such a beautiful location. We walked the beach, then the fishing rods came out....along with beer :)
Luke spent a long time with the lure and had no luck. I decided after one beer that I was a master fisherman and I would have a go. To his disgust I caught a flat head :))) I did have to release that flat head so it could go and find its mum. My next step was to also set the lure free by snagging it on some rocks...husband not happy again.
We slept that night in the pouring rain, my favourite thing.
The next day we arrived in Esperance. We set up at the caravan park and took a look around. I have to say it was a little disappointing. There are a lot of major works happening in Esperance and most of the water front is closed off. We didnt have time to go out to the National Park, but I think it would have been the real jewel of Esperance. We looked at the harbour, had coffee and the kids played in the park..all was not lost.
After a quiet night we packed up and headed to Kalgoorlie.
