We packed up and left Exmouth, heading for Coral Bay. It took just over an hour to get there. Coral bay is spectacular with that beautiful turquoise water. We decided not to stay the night but spent a couple of hours swimming and having lunch. We did some snorkelling over the reef and saw some amazing fish.
After lunch we headed off with plans to stop at a free camp. We pulled up about 80ks north of Carnarvan and spent the night. The stop was right next to the road so I enjoyed hearing the road trains go past all night :) it felt like they were going to come through the canvas.
The next morning we got to Carnarvan and set up in a a caravan park. We spent the day having a look around town. We visited Chinamans pool, and did a tour of the many plantations that make up Carnarvan.
The next morning we packed a lunch and headed to Quobba. It is approx 50k north east of Carnarvan. Our first stop was the blow holes. They were amazing with three and four holes blowing at once. The coastline is very rugged and the water dark blue. It makes for some stunning pictures. There is also large salt deposits sitting on the cliff top. After visiting the blow holes we went down to the beach. There are sun shelters set up along the beach so we set up camp and did some more amazing snorkelling. The water was full of so many beautiful coloured fish and coral. Ella and I swam over to the headland and did some shell hunting. We were so excited to find lots of Cowry shells. We had not been able to find any on other beaches. We spent most of the day swimming, eating and laying in the sun :)
In the afternoon we packed up and explored the rest of the point stopping at the memorial for the HMAS Sydney and then the lighthouse ( yes another lighthouse). We headed home exhausted.
The next day was a rest and washing day before heading off the next morning to Shark Bay and Monkey Mia.
