We left the bumpy Bungle Bungle range and headed for Fitzroy Crossing. As the name indicates it is the home of the mighty Fitzroy river. The river isn't actually very mighty at the moment with very little water. It is interesting to imagine how much water they get in the wet season to fill the river and flood the town. We stayed the night just out of town and the next morning headed for the Geikie Gorge National Park. At the park we took the boat tour that takes you up to the gorge. Because we had two small innocent children :)) we had to sit right up the front. I actually think the guide wanted Kaden as far away as possible :)). It was the best seat in the house ( or boat). We saw a couple of crocodiles, an eagle trying to catch a bat and some amazing formations in the rock. It really is mind blowing to see the water marks left by the wet season. The tour took an hour and was lots of fun. We also saw a water monitor that the ranger explained was slowly becoming extinct due to the cane toad. Apparently they eat the cane toad and it poisons them...it's really causing havoc.
We got back to the car and headed for Tunnel Creek National Park.....yes that's right another national park.
