We have had a really nice week. You already read about our family outing on Tuesday. On Wednesday Lesley and I went to my friend Val's house for a home spa day. Val made us a beautiful salad for lunch and provided wine and was the best hostess ever. We did our hair and nails and had a blast on a budget.

Yesterday we borrowed a kayak from our friends Sean and Mary. We put our giant canoe in the lake and the borrowed kayak and paddled about a mile south to a little Island. The wind had picked up on our way there and Lesley and I really had to dig in to paddle into the wind and waves. Eric had it easy in the nice light kayak.

We made it to the Island and hung out for about an hour and half in the sun and had a picnic lunch. Hagrid loves canoeing and swimming. He swims and runs and rolls in the dirt. He loves to run over and stand right next to Lesley and shake. He does it every time. It's entertaining for us but Lesley doesn't love it. We did manage to tire Hagrid out which is not easy to do. He is a 3 year old black lab after all.

We headed back to the house and spent the later part of the afternoon on our deck. The thermometer was reading 92 in the shade so we didn't move much. Lesley read and lounged while Eric and I played Rumikub.
