Deb's Adventures
We had a fabulous 4th of July. It started with sleeping in a bit which is always a great thing. We had a very slow and relaxing morning.
At around 10:15 we headed out the door for our usual four mile hike. It was already getting very hot and we quickly realized that we probably should have started earlier. We made it around the loop and back to the house by noon. The heat of the hike drained us all a bit so we lazed about and watched a Red Sox baseball game. Very American of us :)
Later in the afternoon we went to Sean and Mary's for dinner and to watch the fireworks from their deck. Their Son Donovan was there with his Girlfriend Melody and her family. Mary's Mom Bobbi also joined us. For those of you that don't know, Sean is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We met way back in our college days. It was awesome to see him and meet new friends.
Day turned to night and we could see three sets of fireworks going off from surrounding towns. We were very confused as to why Fort Collins was not letting theirs fly. Around 10:15 we were about to give up when they finally got things started. The show was worth the wait. We never did figure out what the delay was about.
Thank you Sean, Mary and Donovan for your hospitality!
