Deb's Adventures
I can't believe Lesley has been here for 10 days already. We have been enjoying ourselves immensely. Eric managed to get an extra week off and has been home too. We have been relaxing a lot mixed in with a little bit of shopping and tons of laughter. We have managed to squeeze in a little hiking and swimming as well.
Monday we had Caribbean day and the weather actually cooperated. The temperature was over 90 degrees and the wind subsided for the day. Our friend Bart came over and the four of us relaxed on the deck. We played fun beachy music, dressed in resort-wear and broke out the blender and filled it with rum. Day turned in to night and we made a fire and turned on the party lights and managed to stay up until almost midnight. It was an all around fun day. This may need to become a monthly tradition.
Yesterday Lesley and I spent the day op-shopping in Boulder with my friend Snow. For those of you that do not know, op-shop is Australian for thrift store. (one persons trash is another persons opportunity). We had a blast. My best purchase was this hand carved tacky egret which has been named Oscar and fits in perfectly in our home. We also picked up some wine glasses and an electric tea pot.
Today we are having an open house/lake party. Some folks who can take Wednesday off are coming by to swim and relax lake side. I am looking forward to catching up with friends that I haven't seen in a while. The sun is shining and the sky is that perfect blue that you only see in Colorado. Hopefully the wind will stay at bay an we will not get blown of the lake.
