A strike on the tube today has thrown things into chaos but we have adjusted and arrived at our destinations in roundabout ways. We are sitting at the station tonight trying to get home after a night at the movies in Mayfair. We have been watching a mouse scampering around the platform which seems to be a common occurrence. Maybe it has been recruited for the enjoyment of the passengers. Or maybe it's just a mouse doing it's thing. Maybe I just need sleep.
We started the day with a lunch cruise on the Thames. Nice 3 course meal and a lovely view of the city with some history thrown in. A little peeved that we were told we had to dress up. As a result we had spent a fair amount of time in Asia buying clothes (albeit cheap) only to find when we turned up people were in jeans, trainers and tracky dacks. I guess if we had done the same we would have been knocked back.
We then headed to the London Eye for our champagne flight. Took me a while to stand up from the seat in the middle but was pretty comfortable. The views were fantasy (approx 26k's) and well worth the experience. Didn't even mind the champers.
Wandered down to the Tate modern so Jac could look at some modern art. I don't get it but she enjoyed it. Then she enjoyed a sleep before heading to the flicks.
Can't wait to get home to bed.
