Up nice and early to get ready for our day on the slopes and for the first time in 4 days the sun was out! Perfect. This time round, we went up to Coronet Peak, which we thought was much better than the Remarkables. The snow was softer, there were more slopes and it wasnt as busy! So under Dave's tuition, Claire finally grasped how to turn and stop safely, so not only can Claire turn left, she can now turn right too - an important skill!!
We spent the morning on the baby slopes, which is just using the magic carpets, whilst Dave.C showed off on the big mountain with his snowboard.
After a very nice soup and sandwich lunch (compliments of Dave.C) we made the plunge and got a lift pass for the mountain!
Dave.C told us to go up seperately on the chair lifts as it could be a little difficult to get off at the top. With it being our first time and a little nervous though we went up together and after falling off the chair, dragging each other down, doing splits, landing face first in snow and having to stop the lift so we could move out the way of everyone else we quickly realised that taking Dave.C's advice would have been useful! So off we went down the mountain, Claire falling straight away at the first steep bit - it isnt easy getting up either when your ski's start taking you down the hill when you arent even up!! Dave on his snowboard took us down though very slowly and as soon as we were at the bottom we were back on the lift - seperately this time! Again, it didnt seem to work for Claire though as she fell face first getting off! Off down the mountain in no time, taking it again very slowly, with Dave falling over this time! By the time we had got to the bottom though, Dave.C had been up and down the mountain twice, passing us each time!
Didnt take us long to get into it and we even had to do a little polite pushing to get on the last run of the day!
Sian was back in the evening, surprising Dave, so we went out (again) for a game of pool and a couple of drinks - very kindly on Sian and Dave!
