Had a nice relaxed morning wandering round Palmerston North, it is a really nice little city. We visited the National New Zealand Rugby Museum which would have been great for rugby fans, full of all sorts of historical memoribillia and interesting things. To us, who don't know anything about rugby it wasn't very interesting at all and made us wonder why we even went in the first place...

In the afternoon we drove up to Ohakune, one of the bases for the Tongariro National Park setting for Mt Doom from Lord of theRings. When we got there it had kind of a small Queenstown feel. It was raining again though so we found another free campsite and settled down for the night hoping that our van wasn't going to blow over in the gales outside!
