Up the next morning and on to Christchurch to pick up some stuff from the rental company, we were coming back to Christchurch before flying to Melbourne so we decided not to stay long. Picked up our snow chains and headed off to Ashburton, stopping off at an unimpressive beach along the way for a couple of hours. Had a look round an electronics shop called Smith City whose motto is "has it all", which seemed to be true except polite people with 2 arms, and phone chargers. After we were rudely told they didn't do phone chargers we headed off to Ashburton.

Went to the 2nd hand book shop to buy a pile of books as some days there is nothing better to do. Didn't do much, it was a nice day so we sat in the park all day then discovered a kids play park which had a massive plying fox thing, we played on that for at least an hour and then headed off to bed.

Next day and we headed off to Methven and we couldn't be bothered to do anything, the weather was rubbish, it pretty much rained the whole day so we just did some washing and stuffed our faces.

Next day we headed off to a place called Geraldine, turned out to be a pretty boring place and there wasn't much to do except sit in the sun and read our books again. Did spot a sign selling "horse poo 1dollar" which made us laugh for a while, other than that nothing else.
