Cestria Girls u17's v Ridabu/Ottestad
Our second group game today saw us up against Ridabu from Norway who had lost their first game 3-1. Unlike yesterday we were on 3G today at a windswept Aby pitch.
The girls kicked off and must have missed 4 gilt-edged chances in the first couple of minutes. However they wouldn't be denied for long and sure enough the first goal came in the 5th minute after a great run and finish from Beth Hepple. Zoe Ness hammered home the second on 10 minutes with goals following in the 11th minute after a great crossfield pass from Hepple released Rosie Young who in turn slid a great cross for a composed finish by Beth Jennings and the 12th minute with Nora Otterhall hitting the net after great work from Ness. A bit of a lull ensued but the quality of play didn't let up. Lauren and Emma assured in the centre of defence, bringing the ball into midfield, providing extra numbers resulting in some great interplay. Otterhall grabbed Cestria's 5th goal of the half after great work yet again from Young and straight from kick off Meg Lawson grabbed the 6th and final goal of the half with an audacious 40 yard lob, cue the trademark top over the head celebration until the ref went over and thought about booking her lol.
HT Cestria 6-0 Ridabu (NOR)
A few changes were made with everyone getting valuable game time again like yesterday but this time it didn't particularly take so long to get back into the rhythm they had in the first half. 2 minutes in and Megan Beel got the goal her endeavour deserved after a defence splitting ball from Jennings released Rosie Mc who crossed for Beel to finish. The 2 final goals came in the 29th minute after a corner from Lawson allowed Young to fire home, and then in the 40th minute with a great finish from Hepple after Ness had skipped through 3 Norwegian tackles before feeding her.
FT Cestria 9-0 Ridabu
Performances coming along nicely as we play our way into this tournament. Tomorrow we play the other unbeaten team in our group so promises to bes decent test. Let's hope so.

Mr and Mrs Ottey Thank you gentlemen for the detailed report and the terrific photos. Well done girls and the whole of the back up team. Ottey is a Norwegian name so Ottestad might be my home town!!
