Here we go.....
Tomorrow our girls have a chance to be World Champions!!
SF World Youth Cup
Cestria 5-2 FC Honka (Finland)
The girls had a chance to be the first English team to ever make the World Youth Cup final tonight but first they had to get past formidable Finnish opponents FC Honka who had put out one of the tournament favourites Hammerby in the QF.
The girls started well with lots of possession but yet again found themselves behind after a powerful shot from outside the box flew in. The girls rallied and were dominating proceedings with their passing game when Beth was put through. She cut in from the wing and fired high into the net. We were soon 2-1 up when Zoe played a defence splitting pass on the difficult surface to Beth who rounded the keeper who brought her down. Zoe coolly converting the resulting penalty.

The 2nd half the girls ran their opponents ragged and soon added a third after lovely approach play from Zoe and Meg playing 2 one-twos with Zoe sliding in and beating keeper to the ball and firing into corner.
Number 4 duly arrived when Rosie bundled the ball over the line. Honka gained a good goal from a rare corner with a bullet header but we soon added a fifth when Jess chased a lost cause and got her reward when the gk spilled the ball giving Jess an open goal to fire into. Great performance all round with our watertight defence again coming up with the goods cleaning up everything.

Tomorrow we take on current holders Vartans IK at the Ullevi Stadium Gothenburg. National anthems the lot and Steve or Lee have to do a televised interview on the large screens before the match lol.
Apparently it's televised live tomorrow on Gorhia tv through Viasat. Might take some finding but it's there.
Gonna be really tough tomorrow. I've watched our opponents and they play like us tbh so it's gonna be tight.
Whatever happens it's an amazing achievement and like someone who refereed them the other day said on Facebook, these are all nice girls who happen to be great footballers with not a big head amongst them or a 'look at me' attitude which, believe me, I know a few girls teams who would be exactly like that if they had an ounce of their talent.
Apparently Metro and Real radio involved with Reg updates
