Firstly we're through to last 4 in World Youth Cup!
In blistering heat on an astro turf pitch in front of a huge crowd with commentary over a tannoy system!
A hard fought game against a workmanlike, well organised Swedish team more interested in defending and hoping to catch us out with a set piece than actually forcing the issue themselves. Amy, our keeper, a virtual spectator in the first half while we tried to unlock the, at times, 8 man defence. To be fair, for all our possession, we didn't really create any clear cut chances aside from a Meg free-kick that rattled the crossbar.

The girls came out the second half, tried to pass it about and unlock the Swedish defence with Jess missing a good chance with a free header. Then the goal came from a slick move involving about 5 players with the ball reaching Zoe who feinted to shoot but dropped the shoulder, came inside on her left and placed it in the far corner!
Cue wild celebrations from the pocket of Brits in the crowd and silence from the previously raucous swedes with their horns and vuvuzelas!!
The girls comfortably saw out the remaining 15 minutes with our defence hardly putting a foot wrong.
