Our train arrived at Paris Est at about 6pm. Despite a drizzle we couldn't kill our excitement, Paris! We had a peak our run through the city. First observation, you wouldn't catch a German driving like this - its like old ladies bustling at boxing day sales, but with cars. Anyway, to the hotel, drop bags and Gab has us out the door again in 10 minutes.
Boyed by our MTR use in Hong Kong we head straight to the Metro, I am thoroughly confused, I literally can't work out if we're heading in or out. Somehow Gab has it all sussed and gets us down to Champs-Elysees in no time. Still raining, but Paris! So we walk around in the rain for a few hours, Freezing, but Paris!
First glimpse of the twinkling Eiffel Tower show. Along the Seine, Grand & Pettit Palais, Concorde. I won't laugh at French fashion again. If I grew up with my eyes bathed in such lavish monuments I'd spend my life thinking both that "overstated" isn't possible, and that I clearly need to amplify my status to compete with all this splendor.
Anyway, tired, wet, we drag ourselves back on to the metro, a band is playing at the end of the carriage.
To bed, wonderful!
