We caught the bus into Granada again but this time to visit Albayzin which is the old Muslim quarter.
We decided to buy tickets for the hop-on/hop-off land train around Granada only to find out that it was far from hop-on/hop-off. In fact we couldn't even hop-on as it was full so decided to walk anyway, money well spent!!
The walk to Albayzin was fantastic, a maze of old narrow cobblestone streets lined with walled gardens. Once we arrived at the top the views back over the valley to Alhambra were amazing with the snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains in the background.
We found a little square to have lunch in and went with the bargain set menu even though I had no idea (and still don't while writing this, probably for the best really) what I had for main course!
Our table happened to be only 20 metres from another hop-on/hop-off bus stop so when we saw a half empty train coming past we quickly jumped on. To get value for money we decided to do the entire loop of Granada that took over 1.5 hours with the kids climbing all over me and us bumping all over the place.
After that I needed a beer, so we watched the sunset over the Alhambra to finish off the day.
