I think it's safe to say that we all loved this place! Completely unexpected as we were just hoping for somewhere ok to sleep the night before heading on, we were stunned by the amazing setting of this nature park and couldn't resist spending the day there. We saw elephants, bears, giraffes, tigers, gorillas, hippos, jaguars and much more in the stunning scenery of Northern Spain with the natural contours of the mountains separating the various animals - completely different to anywhere we have been before!

By mid afternoon (after a very scary, bouncy ride on the cable car which we could have used the seasick bands for!) we were fading in the sun and so headed off East driving through the beautiful mountain scenery, along the coast past some beautiful beaches before turning inland to drive through coniferous forests and on to the vineyards of the Rioja region where we spent the night.

A fantastic first day in Spain!
