We had taken a detour to see Cordoba, there was no easy way to fit it on the route but we were keen to visit the city and particularly see the Mezquita. We were not disappointed. The Mezquita was like nowhere else we have visited (and perfect for ticking off some religious education and history from the Bob curriculum!) - definitely worth the visit.
After ticking off the 'must-see' we then explored the old town; had a very confused conversation with a pharmacist about some mouth ulcer gel resulting in 15 euros being spent on something that later translations proved to be useless; visited the play park; had some yummy lunch - bargain set menu; bought postcards; played on another play park; visited another cafe for another glass breaking session; unsuccessfully looked for a supermarket again and returned to Bob to find him surrounded by a fence that hadn't been there when we left! After a brief conversation with 2 men who were guarding the fence with little understanding on either side we managed to escape and leave Cordoba behind for a drive back down to the coast.
We left later than planned and so the drive was now in the dark which wasn't intentional but the benefit of this was that we got to see the most amazing SUPERMOON appearing over the horizon as we drove through the mountains, so big we thought we could literally touch it and and glowing orange - Wow! Fab end to an entertaining day of edventure.
